Adafruit PCF8523 Real Time Clock Assembled Breakout Board: This is a great battery-backed real time clock (RTC) that allows your microcontroller project to keep track of time even if it is reprogrammed, or if the power is lost. Perfect for datalogging, clock-building, time stamping, timers and alarms, etc. Equipped with PCF8523 RTC – it can run from 3.3V or 5V power & logic!
Adafruit ESP32-S2 Feather – 2 MB PSRAM and STEMMA QT / Qwiic: What’s Feather-shaped and has an ESP32-S2 WiFi module? What has a STEMMA QT connector for I2C devices? What has your favorite Espressif WiFi microcontroller and lots of Flash and RAM memory for your next IoT project? What will make your next IoT project flyyyyy?
That’s right – it’s the new Adafruit ESP32-S2 Feather! With native USB and 4 MB flash + 2 MB of PSRAM, this board is perfect for use with CircuitPython or Arduino with low-cost WiFi. Native USB means it can act like a keyboard or a disk drive. WiFi means its awesome for IoT projects. And Feather means it works with the large community of Feather Wings for expandability.
Reverse Mount Tactile Switch Buttons – 6mm square – 10 Pack: Have you ever seen a tactile button do a headstand? This little clicky button is like a circus (circuit circus?) performer, contorting itself so its legs stick up instead of down the way most are. We think these could be used in SMT projects where you want to have a button that comes through a PCB but without the front height. These are unique and we thought some folks could probably use them in a design that needs a flush design.
The size of the tactile switch body is standard 6x6mm and the height is 6.5mm with a mounting height of 4.5mm. That means that if you have a classic 1.6mm thick PCB, the button top will rise 0.4mm over the PCB plane. If you need more height, a 0.8mm half thickness PCB will give you 1.2mm of height above the PCB plane.
MicroPython Pyboard Lite v1.0 – STM32F411: The Pyboard Lite is a compact and powerful electronics development board that runs MicroPython. It connects to your PC over USB, giving you a USB flash drive to save your Python scripts and a serial Python prompt (a REPL) for instant programming. Requires a micro USB cable (not included, but we have tons of choices). Works with Windows, Mac, and Linux.
IDE Molex 4-pin Plug Cable – 30cm long: If you’re messing around with floppy drives, or disk drives, or other devices that are usually powered with a PC motherboard you’ll often see these big ‘Molex’ connectors used to provide power. They are used to give 5V (red), 12V (yellow) and ground (black) and with this connector you can easily wire up your favorite power supply or bench-top power source.
This cute 3.2″ × 2.1″ (82 × 53mm) solderless half-size breadboard has four bus lines and 30 rows of pins, our favorite size of solderless breadboard for projects. You get a whoppin’ 400 tie points!
Adafruit TSC2007 I2C Resistive Touch Screen Controller – STEMMA QT: Getting touchy performance with your screen’s touch screen? Resistive touch screens are incredibly popular as overlays to TFT and LCD displays. Only problem is they require a bunch of analog pins and you have to keep polling them since the overlays themselves are basically just big potentiometers. If your microcontroller doesn’t have analog inputs, or maybe you want just a way more elegant controller, the TSC2007 is a nice way to solve that problem.
This breakout board features the TSC2007, which has an easy-to-use I2C interface available. There is also an interrupt pin that you can use to indicate when a touch has been detected to your microcontroller or microcomputer. We wrapped up the chip with a 3V voltage regulator and level shifting so it’s safe to use with 3V or 5V logic. Its a nicely designed chip, and has very stable precise readings. We found its also a lot faster than trying to do all the readings on an Arduino.
