April 2022 drone sales: the best deals on DJI drones this spring

Spring means time to refresh and renew. And what better way to renew than with…a new drone? Luckily, this month is abounding with drone deals like the Easter Bunny to a pile of chocolate-filled eggs. I scoured the internet for April 2022 drone sales, and unearthed a basket of deals.

These DJI deals are available now through April 14, and include not just drones, but other DJI products like its handheld cameras like the DJI Pocket 2 and Action 2.

So with that, here are the best April 2022 drone sales (as well as other DJI products) that you’ll find:

DJI Mavic 3: up to 7% off

Normally $2,199, the DJI Mavic 3 is DJI’s newest drone, and easily their best in terms of camera quality short of having an ultra-expensive enterprise rig. With it comes a 20MP wide-angle camera with 4/3″ CMOS from camera maker Hasselblad, as well as a 12MP telephoto with 1/2″ CMOS, 4K video, and 28x hybrid zoom.

Thanks to a January 2022 Mavic 3 firmware update, some of the drone’s best features — including QuickShots and QuickTransfer — were added. And yes, that 28x DJI Mavic 3 optical zoom is incredible.

This spring, there are various deals happening around the Internet. Among them:

DJI Action 2: up to 15% off

The DJI Action 2 is DJI’s second action camera, improving on the DJI Osmo Action which first launched in 2019. This tiny, box-sized camera is the perfect compact camera for on-the-go video recording that — thanks to smart video stabilization software — still manages to produce silky smooth video even without a gimbal.

The DJI Action 2 Dual-Screen Combo is normally $519, but it’s on sale for up to 15% off, bringing it down to $439. If you don’t need all the bells and whistles, cheaper versions of this kit include the DJI Action 2 Power Combo, which is also 15% off (normally $399, down to $339).

DJI Mavic Air 2 Fly More Combo: up to 20% off

This ultra-portable, compact drone was already my favorite drone under $1,000, but now it’s even cheaper at just $789. Camera quality is high, thanks to its 1/2″ CMOS Quad Bayer sensor mounted on a 3-axis stabilized gimbal that can capture up to 48 MP resolution, in a sense. The DJI Mavic Air 2 also has obstacle avoidance sensors on the front, rear and bottom of the aircraft, which can help it avoid crashing.

What’s wild about this deal is that it actually makes the Fly More Combo (which gets you add-ons like a much-needed spare battery) cheaper than the base level DJI Mavic Air 2.

DJI FPV Combo: up to 23% off

The DJI FPV drone is almost a two-in-one drone. With it is a racing drone and a camera drone — perfect if you want both. DJI FPV can reach maximum speeds of 87 mph, at a maximum acceleration of 0-62 mph in just two seconds, while its camera shoots at 4K/60fps 120 Mbps.

The DJI OM 5 is basically an ultra-glorified selfie stick. Palm-sized when folded, the DJI OM 5 has a 215 mm built-in extension rod. It costs $159, but when you purchase it though DJI, you get a free, handy gift with purchase.

DJI Pocket 2: free gift with purchase

One of DJI’s newer handheld cameras, the DJI Pocket 2 is a 4K camera with a larger 1/1.7″ image sensor, and a wider lens than its predecessor, the DJI Osmo Pocket. It entails a 20mm f/1.8 lens, designed to provide a brighter and wider cinematic look.

And when you purchase it now for $349 directly from DJI, DJI will also throw in a free gift with purchase.
